It's finally happened...the day I have dreamed about for years now... I am proud to announce that Autumn has successfully kept from wetting the bed two weeks in a row!! This is something she has really struggled with for the last year. I could tell it was very important to her, but she was such a sound sleeper that she wouldn't wake up.
So, in order to celebrate this fantastic occasion, today we honored Autumn with "Big Girl Day". It started off by going to the ceramics store and picking up the tea cup that Autumn painted for herself. After enjoying a quick cup of tea (in her new cup, of course!) Genevieve, Autumn and I set out for the mall. We enjoyed Orange Julius smoothies and Cinnabons. Try as she might, Autumn couldn't quite finish a whole Cinnabon before it was time to head over to the Build-a-Bear Workshop (but she certainly gave it a heroic effort! ;) Once at the Workshop, Autumn lovingly picked out her new friend, complete with a new outfit (including...**rainbow underwear!!**). It was fun watching her carefully weigh all the options and then confidently say "No, Flower would like this one." After we were all done at BAB, we headed over to Barnes and Noble so that Genevieve could pick out a few books (after all, it wasn't **fair** that Autumn got to do something special.....). Then we headed back home and picked up Daddy and Bubby so that we could go to a Japanese Steak House for dinner. Of course, Autumn got a front row seat next to the grill, and she had a great time yakking it up with the chef (not sure how much he enjoyed the company...). Both girls had a really fun time watching the guy try to singe his eyebrows off, though Benjamin was a little bit concerned at the beginning of the meal. Oh well, 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
After we got home, Autumn was able to cap off the day by rounding up all of her extra pull ups and throwing them in the garbage. I can't even begin to tell you how big of a grin she wore to bed tonight as she cuddled under the sheets in her nightgown and underwear!
